Q

what is the testing of vestibular/somatosensory integration at rest

A

sensation of motion at rest:
-positive= sensation of motion inside ones head with eyes closed and body stable

interpretation: asymmetry of information from inner ear

Q

what is the intervention for vestibular/somatosensory integration at rest

A

settling: matching vestibular/somatosensory inputs

-find position of incresed stability like hooklying
-weights on body
-axial loading

Q

what is some gaze stability testing

A

VOR

  1. head impulse test: positive= eyes slip off target
  2. dynamic visual ctivity: gold standard.positive= loss of >3 lines of visual acuity (blurred)
  3. gaze stability with head turns. postiive= blurred vision during head motion
