- Kyphosis → outward curve (hunchback)

What is the function of the thoracic cage?
Surround and protect vital organs in the thoracic cavity (heart, lungs, major blood vessels)

- False ribs → attached indirectly to the sternum or not attached at all
- Floating ribs → lack sternal attachments
