Ventricular Dysrhythmias Flashcards
What is the ECG criteria and relevance for Brugada’s Sign?
Top of R to bottom of S interval greater than or equal to 0.1s. Likely VT (not SVT).
What is the ECG criteria and relevance for Josephson’s Sign?
Small notch near bottom of S. Likely VT (not SVT).
What is overdrive pacing?
To resolve VT. Electrode implanted in base of RV & stimulated at higher rate than VT until capture occurs. Rate then slowed down until SA takes over.
What is an upsurping rhythm?
A rhythm that overpowers a different pacemaker (eg VT overpowers SA node).
How does the Valsalva maneuver work?
.
What are some determining factors of VT vs SVT with aberrancy?
Brugada’s Criteria (Concordance, Brugada’s Sign & AV Dissociation), Josephson’s Sign, Fusion & Capture beats, Hx of MI/CHF/Angina all increase likelihood of VT.
Hx of younger/SVT increases SVT.
