what are some general properties of veins?
A
they help to carry blood towards the heart, and carry deoxygenated blood except for the pulmonary and umbillical vein

how does blood travel uo the body against gravity?
A
skeletal muscle contraction squeezes and pushes against the walls of veins, constricting veins. flaps of tissue within veins act as one-way valves that keep moving towards the heart
