A group of people organised under a single government or authority (national or regional) is a body politic

An economic system where the state exerts a strong directive influence over the economy and investment. So bureaucrats directing industry from the top down, ignoring interest-groups. This gives great power to bureaucrats.
The economic base
The methods of production in a given society.
An egalitarian _________
A trend of thought that favours equality for all people; a doctrine which maintains that all humans are equal in fundamental worth or status.
False consciousness
Marx’s idea that people accept an unfavourable social system without protest or questioning, that is, they assume it is the logical way for things to be.
A hegemony
Leadership or dominance, especially by one state or social group over others.
A heterodox ________
Unorthodox, not conforming with accepted or orthodox standards or beliefs.
An iconoclast
A person who attacks cherished beliefs.
An ideology
A belief system
The intelligentsia
A group of intelligent and well-educated people who guide or try to guide the political, artistic, or social development of their society.
A luminary
A person who inspires or influences others, especially one prominent in a particular sphere.
A polemic (or as an adjective polemical)
A strong verbal or written attack on someone or something.
Proletariat
Marx’s term for the working or industrial class.
