Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004
Refers to any act or a series of acts committed by any person against a woman who is his wife, former wife, or against a woman with whom the person has or had a sexual or dating relationship, or with whom he has a common child, or against her child whether legitimate or illegitimate, within or without the family abode, which will result in or is likely to result in physical, sexual, psychological harm or suffering, or economic abuse including threats of such acts, battery, assault, coercion, harassment or arbitrary deprivation of liberty.”

What are the necessary requirements needed to avail VAWC leave?
To be entitled to the leave benefit, the only requirement is for the victim-employee to present to her employer a certification from the barangay chairman (punong barangay) or barangay councilor (barangay kagawad) or prosecutor or the Clerk of Court, as the case may be, that an action relative to the matter is pending.
How many days are entitled for VAWC victim?
10 days leave with pay consisting of basic salary and mandatory allowances fixed. The said leave is extendable when circumstances arise.
Is it true that in event where VAWC leave will not be use, this benefits shall not be convertible into cash?
