Covered employees are entitled to a package benefits in the event of death, disability, sickness, maternity and old age. Self-employed and voluntary members also get the same benefits as covered employees, except those benefits under the EC program.

A social security benefits where a daily cash allowance paid for the number of days a member is unable to work due to sickness or injury.
Sickness.
A social security benefits where a daily cash allowance granted to a female member in every instance of pregnancy resulting in childbirth, miscarriage or emergency termination of pregnancy, regardless of frequency, her civil status, employment status or the legitimacy of her child.
Maternity
A social security benefit where a cash benefit granted—either as a monthly pension or a lump sum amount—to a member who can no longer work due to old age.
Retirement
A social security benefit where a cash benefit granted—either as a monthly pension or a lump sum amount—to a member who becomes permanently disabled, either partially or totally.
Disability
A social security benefit where cash benefit granted—either as a monthly pension or a lump sum amount—to the beneficiaries of a deceased member.
Death
A social security benefit where a cash benefit given to whomever paid for the burial expenses of the deceased member or pensioner.
Funeral
A social security benefit where a cash benefit granted to eligible employees – including househelpers and OFWs – who were involuntarily separated from employment.
Unemployment
An employee shall not be qualified to receive the benefit if he/she has been involuntarily separated from employment due to the following:
- Serious misconduct;
- Willful disobedience to lawful orders;
- Gross and habitual neglect of duties;
- Fraud or willful breach of trust/loss of confidence;
- Commission of a crime or offense; or
- Analogous cases like abandonment, gross inefficiency, disloyalty/ conflict of
interest/ dishonesty.
