Vasodilators Flashcards
1
Q
Calcium channel blockers
A
- Prevents calcium from entering cell. Cell cannot contract the same–> relaxes/dilates
- Cardiac arrhythmias, HTN, angina
2
Q
Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitors
A
- Decreases BP by reducing peripheral vascular resistance, w/o increasing CO output
- HTN
- Dry Cough
3
Q
Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARBs)
A
- Arterial/venous dilation. Blocks aldosterone secretion, therefore BP drops, but no H2O region
- HTN
