Vasculitides Flashcards
3 vasculitides in lungs
associated w/ which antibodies?
microscopic polyangiitis (MPA), granulomatosis w/ polyangiitis (GPA), eosinophilic GPA (eGPA)
ANCA associated
ANCA subtypes
PR3 (usually GPA) and MPO (usually MPA)
these are antibodies present, while GPA and MPA are disease processes
contrast basic path of MPA, GPA, eGPA
MPA- no granulmas or asthma
GPA- granulomas but no asthma
eGPA- granulomas, asthma, eosinophilia
clinical tendency of GPA
upper airway involvement
clinical tendency of eGPA
vasculitis w/ asthma and eos
clinical tendency of MPA
pathology but no granulomas, ANCA+ or pulm fibrosis
DDx for ANCA+ lab
GPA, MPA, then eGPA
DDx for anti GBM antibodies
goodpastures
define pulm renal syndrome
renal failure w/ resp failure
glomerulonephritis and diffuse alveolar hemorrhage secondary to autoimmune
6 possible radiological findings w/ small vasculitides
nodules, masses/consolidation, alveolar infiltrates, effusions, cavities, tracheal thickening
tx for vasculitides
immunosuppressants- like steroids or cyclophosphamide
