clue cells= gardnerella vaginosis

what is gardnerella associated with
○ Associated low birth weight babies
○ Women at risk for pre term delivery
○ Should treat both partners if found
○ Found with decrease in lactobacillus

what is the fern test
mucous extracted and spread on slide
-allow to air dry
look under microscope and if you see fern pattern= it is mid cycle and time of ovulation
