explain the process of vaccination

A
  • a dead/inactive pathogen is injected into the body
  • white blood cells are stimulated to produce antibodies against the dead pathogen
  • white blood cell divides by mitosis to produce lots of copies of itself
  • if infected again the same white blood cells can now produce the antibodies which bind to the antigens on the pathogen this prevents infection
