how can people use Hilly landscapes?
A
- in humid climates water will cause rock to decompose in process called chemical weathering resulting in thick fine grained soil layers with gentle slopes which farmers can use to grow crops.
- not much use in arid areas as mechanical weathering takes place.

how can people use Basaltic plateaus?
A
- high altitudes Basaltic plateaus are of little use to humans due to its cold weather.
- not so high Basaltic plateaus can be used for settlements and it is fertile for soil and agriculture.

how can people use Canyon and Karoo landscapes?
A
- beautiful canyon landscapes are good for tourist attraction, not much more.
- farming can take place in pediplanes and wider canyon floors but low rainfall would be a problem.
