A
  • in humid climates water will cause rock to decompose in process called chemical weathering resulting in thick fine grained soil layers with gentle slopes which farmers can use to grow crops.
  • not much use in arid areas as mechanical weathering takes place.

  • high altitudes Basaltic plateaus are of little use to humans due to its cold weather.
  • not so high Basaltic plateaus can be used for settlements and it is fertile for soil and agriculture.
