what are granite domes?
A
landform resulting from erosion of strata above a batholith

how do granite domes develop?
A
exfoliating type weathering causes sheets of rock to peel off.
this happens when rock expands by day due to heat and contract and night due to the cold.

what are tors?
A
exposed granite blocks made up of core stones

how do tors develop?
A
when core stones chemically weather due to widely spaced joints underneath the earth surface when it is exposed to surface it causes tors.
this is only possible if the rate at which the earth surface erodes is faster than the rate at which the granite underground chemically weathers.

what are core stones?
A
left over of the stones that chemically weathered underground.
