Diagnosis of pyelonephritis

A

Urine dip positive for nitrites and leucocytes. FBC has raised WCC. U&E’s may show renal failure. Blood cultures. US to look for hydronephros

A

IV abx in severe cases - ciprofloxacin, quniolone or gentamicin
