A

“Aunt Julia”, “Visiting Hour” and “Assisi” by Norman MacCaig all use the senses to help reveal key themes.
In “Aunt Julia” MacCaig uses sight and sound to create a vivid impression of the Aunt, making the personal loss of the character due to her death all the more impactful.
In “Visiting Hour” MacCaig uses sight, smell and touch to reveal the speaker is struggling with the experience of dealing with a loved one very ill in the hospital.
In “Assisi” the senses of of sight and smell to create a horrific image of the beggar that should be helped by the church not ignored.
