Urinary System
Primary function is to remove urine (liquid waste products) from the body

Liquid waste products
Tubules of the kidneys
Where urine is collected after it has been filtered out of the blood. (There are two)
Ureter
Takes urine from tubules of the kidney to the urinary bladder
Urinary bladder

Urethra
Urine travels through the urethra during urination after storage in the urinary bladder; exits the body
Urination
Voluntary control; innervated by the somatic nervous system
Urine Formation
Involuntary control; innervated by the autonomic nervous system
Urinary tract
1) Urine filtered form blood
2) Collects in tubules of kidneys
3) Flows from kidneys to urinary bladder via the ureters
4) Urinary bladder empties under voluntary control
5) Urine exits body via urethra
Kidneys
In addition to urine collection, the kidneys also maintain correct salt and water balance within the blood and work in conjunction with the liver and adrenal glands to maintain the balance of sodium and potassium levels, which affect blood volume and therefore, blood pressure
