a regeneration of the liverpool waterfront caused by a delclaration by UNESCO, 15 hectares of land were turned into an arena and convention centre which have held many events and brought heavy flow of investment into the area.

-houses didnt have heating so they began to mold and familys became ill
-alot of single parent households which led to many social problems in the area
-infestation problems

a slum clearance programme which involves demolition of the houses which were replaced with social housing flats built in the shape of crescents
why were the new flats not a success
-it created many social problems
-family’s were scared of being robbed and has to barricade doors at night
-many homeless people were moved into the flats which created even more social problems
-there was a lack of community and no sense of place as people felt trapped in the flats
-little green space
-homes ended up becoming cold and damp similar to the houses before, so little was done to change that
