What is the litter count collection method

A
  1. Firstly using a ipad I set a timer for 10 minutes.
  2. I then walked around and noted down using the pen and paper all the litter I could see until the time has run out.
  3. The amount of litter and type of litter were both recorded.
  4. This was repeated at each site.

What is the traffic count collection method

A
  1. Firstly using an ipad we set a timer for 3 minutes.
  2. Then we stood still and counted how many cars, bikes, vans, lorries, bus and motorbikes went past in one direction until the time had ran out.
  3. The number of vehicles was recorded.
  4. This was repeated at each site.

What is the decibel reading collection method

A
  1. Firstly,when you have reached the sight open the ‘decibel 10’ app on your ipad.
  2. It will then come up with the current, average, maximum and example of the noise level decibel readings.
  3. You get your paper and pen and record down your numbers in the table.
  4. Make sure you repeat this at each site.

What is the bipolar (environmental quality survey) collection method

A
  1. Firstly open up your booklet and read each criteria.
  2. You then fill in each box depending on what you would rank each factor to be on the scale from -3 to +3 with -3 being the worst and +3 being the best.
  3. At the end of each site you add up the scores.
  4. The site with the highest score is the site with the best environmental quality.

What is the annotated photos collection method

  1. Enter your site you are there to study
  2. Get out your ipad and get up the camera
  3. Find a spot which you want to take a picture of, which you would deem right for the drawing later
  4. Annotate it depending on the different factors of choice

What is the questionaire method

A
  1. Before going on your trip, make a list of a set of questions you want to ask, relating to your hypothesis and aim
  2. When you are there your going to find someone at each site and your going to ask them if they can help you complete your survey
  3. If yes, question them and record your answers. If no, move on and find someone else
