People who buy mulch may also keep a garden. Gardens can be for flowers or for vegetables or both. Gardens require certain products to make them both efficient and productive.

Good soil - a combination of dirt (what we call native soil or the ground at the property location), composition - dirt, plus sand, plus texture like leaf compost, mushroom compost, and finely-ground mulch. Then come the nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

Good texture - soil must be solid and strong enough to hold together and not blow or wash away and hold the plant in place, and loose enough to allow for air and water to penetrate to the roots to activate the nutrients in the soil to feed the plants.
