UPRT Flashcards
1
Q
What are the signs and symptoms of a stall?
A
S - Speed decreasing
A- Attitude increasing
B - Buffet (2 types light / heavy )
I - Instability (flight no longer smooth)
R - RoD - large and increasing
S - stick - fully aft
2
Q
SSR - describe. How many phases? What do you do when?
A
Phase I -
Re-attach boundary layer
- AP/ AT OFF
- Nose down elevator (reduce AoA, STAB TRIM)
- Roll shortest way to W/L
- Power UP as needed
- Retract speedbrake
Phase II -
minimise altitude loss, return to normal flight condition
- Check speed, adjust Power
- Establish pitch ATT
- Return to desired flight condition
- AP/AT ON (if desired)
3
Q
Spin - what is it ? How do you recover?
A
Yaw-aggravated stall
- Throttle CLSD
- Flaps UP
- L/R - direction of spin
- Rudder - opposite
- Stick - neutral - progressively forward until spin stops
- Rudder - neutral
- W/L and climb away
4
Q
Incipient spin recovery - how do you recover?
A
- (Undemanded yaw)
- Controls - NEUTRAL
- Power - decrease
- Wait for a/c stability to kick in
- Roll to horizon (NRST)
- Climb away
- Power UP
5
Q
Spiral dive recovery
A
- Throttle close
- W/L
- Ease out of dive
- Add power wi 5kts of speed
- Recover to normal flight
