Rhinitis
Runny nose etc. Very common, 5-10 per year in the winter months. Is self limiting but can be a prodrome to other illnesses.
Otitis media
Red, swollen ear drum. Common and self limiting. Caused by a primary viral infection and then secondary infection with pneumococcus/H.flu when mucous barrier lost. Can cause spontaneous rupture of ear drum, antibiotics don’t help

Severe uni and bilateral, severe pain for over 48 hours
Non severe bilateral 6-23 months
Tonsillitis/pharnygitis
Common, can be viral or bacterial so can do throat swab and decide whether to give penicillin (not amoxicillin)
