Are the front and rear UFCPs linked?
Yes, they operate in tandem
How does the rear UFCP differ from the front UFCP?
- Rear UFCP is different in shape and does not support HUD brightness control
What does each UFCP comprise?
1) MMS keys
2) ODS windows and keys
3) Scratchpad
4) Keypad
What rotary controls does the UFCP have?
- BRT - brightness
- IC - Intercom
- C1 - COMM 1
- C2 - COMM 2
What is the additional front cockpit UFCP rotary control?
Controls the brightness of the HUD
How does UFCP send data to the MC?
Continuously sends a character stream to the UFCP.
How does the MC transmit data to various components?
- Via various direct connections to the HUD symbol generator, TACAN, NAV 1, NAV 2 and the ATC/ ADS-B transponder
- Through RIOC 3 for COMM 1 and trough RIOC 4 for COMM 2
How are the front and rear UFCP powered?
From the Mission Bus which in turn is energized from the BATT BUS
Is the rear UFCP powered if the instructor switch is set to SOLO?
No
When does the UFCP display the initialize position page?
When the IRS does not have a valid present position, for example, when in a hangar.
What is the COMM master mode used to control?
- C1 and C2 transfer scratchpad frequency in standby area to C1 or C2
- MON - selects the emergency function that is monitored by COMM 1 and COMM 2
- ASN/SQ - this ODS key assigns channel numbers to frequencies
- Guard - immediately tunes COMM 1 to an emergency frequency.
