15
Q

STEPS OF HEARING

A

1 - Sound waves arrive @ Tympanic Membrane
2 - Movement from TM causes displacement to the ear bones
3 - Movement of stapes causes pressure waves in the Perilymph
4 - Pressure waves distort the basilar (Travel like ocean waves)
5 - Vibration of bas. Membrane causes hair cell to vibrate
6 - Auditory nerve moves signals to the brain

17
Q

ANALGESIC
&
ANESTHESIA

A

Anal - Drugs that are designed to relieve pain w/out causing the loss of consciousness

Anesthesia - Temporary loss of sensation or awareness for medical purposes

18
Q

GENERAL SENSES (6)

A
Pain - Nociceptors
Tough - Tactile
Pressure - Baroreceptors
Vibration -
Temperature -
Proprioception - Body is in space
