In the twentieth century, many new types of technology including new medical technology. These include vaccines and antibiotics. Vaccines can cure and prevent long-term diseases and antibiotics are for immediate care.

These diseases are more common when living in poverty because of the living conditions. Consist of malaria, tuberculosis, cholera, and polio

These diseases are long term and are more common in higher classes, not so much paverty. Consists of heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease,

some causes are overpopulation and urbanization. These cause pollution and lead to deforestation and desertification.

He was a leader of China as well as a military leader. He is known for reforming China’s economy through economic liberalization.

this style of the economy focused more on the quality and the accessibility of the products rather than the production itself
Knowledge Economy
monitored and controlled trade across the world. Some people protested this with the rights of workers and environmental issues in mind.
World Trade Organization (include anti- WTO protests)
A company that has multiple locations in multiple different countries. Some examples are Shell, Subway, and Coke.
Multinational Corporations
An organization that promotes intergovernmental cooperation The goal of ASEAN is to help the economies of the countries involved grow. (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)

asserting basic rights and fundamental freedoms for all human beings. The UN always protects human rights

outlawed discrimination based on race, religion, sex, color, or national origin
US Civil Rights Act 1965
Because of globalization, the environment was suffering. Pollution, deforestation, and desertification were at an all-time high, so women started planting trees as an effect of environmental changes.
Green Belt Movement
Indian version of Hollywood. This is a direct example of globalization and the influence of other cultures.
Bollywood
The biggest soccer tournament in the world in which all countries put together a team and compete until there is one champion.
World Cup Soccer
an international organization founded in 1945 to promote world peace and cooperation
