Q

Authoritarian leader

A

A leadership style which the leader hold all the power. They have control over every decision with no input from their followers
(My way or the high way)

This approach works when deadlines are tight, when quick decisions need to be taken and the approach fails when leaders are viewed as bossy, controlling or even abusive and people might feel bullied or resentful

Q

The laissez- afire leader

A

Laissez- afire means leave it alone
The style is the opposite of the authoritarian style. A laissez faire leader provides their followers or team members with the proper tools and resources they need, and gives them the freedom to make their own decisions.

This approach works when the team elements are also skilled and experienced and are motivated to complete the task on their own
And the approach fails when tread memebers do not have the proper experienced or knowledge, cannot settle their own deadlines and when they lack motivation resulting in missed deadlines

Q

The democratic leader

A

Allows their followers to contribute to the decision making process. They allow them to give them their input and share their ideas, but the democratic leader will still have the final say.
A democratic leader divides the responsibilities between the team members

The style boosts team members morale because they are encouraged and rewarded for their participation and the team members do not have the knowledge to contribute to the decision making process

The approach fail when the team members are not experienced enough and do not have the knowledge to contribute to the decision making process
