R: read actively. read with the aim to answer all questions you have asked before

R: Recite. Say all the answers by recalling them from your memory and then write them down. Do this in your own words

R: Review. Review a complete piece of work by remembering what you have learned. Make sure you remember all the facts and detail

Use multiple question types: Different learners are better at different types of exams. An exam must therefore have a variety of questions and use graphs and pictures

Tips to avoid common examination errors

A
  1. Not reading the question properly. If you don’t read the question carefully enough, you might end up with a wonderful essay and get a zero because you didn’t answer the question
  2. Not planning beforehand when you write a paragraph or essay. draw a mindmap before you start writing
  3. Answer the difficult questions first.
  4. Running out of time. Time is crucial in an exam. Estimate how long you will spend on each question, the stick to the time you have available for each one
  5. Poor spelling and grammar. If your answer sheet has many errors, you might miss out on easy extra marks
  6. lack of sleep. don’t say up late revising the night before

You do not enjoy the work that needs to be done. If you do not like a subject or activity, you will see it as a burden and continue to put off

Anxiety and pressure. you need time to rest and recharge your batteries

Inability to prioritize. Doig too many things and pleasing too many people will cause you to procrastinate. learn to say no

Perfectionism. We spend too much time trying to create something that we can never improve on. To do your best to make the most of your knowledge and resources during the available time
