What do buddhists believe about miracles
They don’t believe in god. There is a debate in Buddhism on whether miracles are real or just a reward for good karma
What do christians believe about miracles
God can perform miracles through people such as his son Jesus
What do Jews think about miracles
God works directly within the world performing miracles in order to help Jews
What do muslims think about miracles
Allah doesn’t do them directly but through prophets who hen perform the miracle. This shows these prophets have been chosen by Allah
What do sikhs believe about miracles
Prophets and saints can perform them whenever but they sh Utd only do it in order to help people, not to make them popular, not to make the religion more powerful, only to help people find god
What do buddhists believe about who causes miracles
Many don’t believe anyone or anything can perform them but they are just things we cannot yet explain, like how before we though illness was the result of evil but now we know it’s because of pathogens
Evidence for miracles
They have been witnessed by many people so must be true
People who have experienced them for themselves have lots of evidence
Miracles have been seen by many and recorder, again
Problems with miracles
God picks certain people to perform them, he isn’t equal to everyone
Give performers too much power so they lose god
David humes arguments against miracles
There is lots of evidence for the laws of nature, miracles break theses, there isn’t enough evidence to prove this is possible
Witnesses are unreliable, usually uneducated so don’t understand it
May be made up to help support religions. Miracles end up supporting one religion but disproving another they can’t all be true
Arguments against Hume
Miracles aren’t suppose to follow nature,
Miracles happen to both un educated and the educated
Religions such as roman Catholic judge the truth of a miracle before accepting it
What is laws of nature
A description of how science expects nature to work
What is a miracle
An event caused by god that appears to break the laws of nature
What is tradition
Something that has been done for a very long time so is therefore believed to be true
