• Since 1990’s entrepreneurs felt encouraged to set up businesses, so many MNC’s have invested in India
• Lots of workers want jobs, and prepared to receive low wages, so unemployment is lower
• Lots of workers can speak English, so workers that emigrate from India, return with new skills

• Designed new boat based on traditional design, but used plywood and fibreglass. Could now carry engines ( Improvement)
• Uses local skills of boat building. 2/3 of fishermen changed to these boats
