These are the site of sperm production and testosterone production

The seminiferous tubules

Interstitial cells

What is the role of seminal vesicles ?
To secrete and liquid rich in fructose and hormones
What is the role of the prostate gland
To produce a thin lubricating liquid that contains enzymes that keeps the fluid medium at optimum viscosity for sperm
What does semen consist of
Sperm and fluid from the seminal vesicles and prostate gland
What are eggs/ ova’s formed by?
Germline cells in the ovaries
What do ovaries contain?
Immature eggs
What Is each egg surrounded by
A follicle that secretes oestrogen and protects the egg
During ovulation what happens the the follicle?
The follicle turns into a corpus luteum which secretes progesterone
Where does fertilisation take place ?
The oviduct
What is the first cell called after fertilisation?
A zygote
