Pre 1925, it was socially acceptable to drive while under the influence, However, due to rising safety concerns in 1966, such as making it mandatory to fit seatbelts into new cars.
Public Perception: (3)
In 1967 the Road Safety Act introduced a blood alcohol limit of 80mg, making it an offence to be over while driving. This was later reinforced with the introduction of breathilisers to police forces,
which drivers would be warned of through Fancy a Jar? Forget the Car THINK! Campaign in 1983. This reduced road accidents involving alcohol from 25% to 15%.

In 1945, the number of non-white population in britain was less than 20,000. Throughout the 1950’s and 60’s saw an influx of migrants from the carribean to fill up the post-war worker shortage. However, these individuals where faced with discrimination in obtaining employment and housng, with only 1.5% of white families willing to lend a room to a black tenant.

Due to this discrimination, the 1965 Race Relations act was passed to ban discrimination in public places, made promotion of racial hatred an offence and in 1968 outlawed discrimination in housing, employment and public services.

Cultural Changes: (2)
From 1533, sexual relations between men was punishable by death. This was outlawed in 1861, but an act in 1885 still maintained the illegality.
Cultural Changes: (3)
Due to movements by LGBTQ+ activists in the 1960’s, such as the Stonewall Riots, sexual realtionships between men over 21 was decriminalised in 1967. It was only until 2014 for gay marriage to become legal in the UK.
