Some typical characteristics of Chinese architecture were included an wood construction with a heavy terracotta tiled roof, a wide overhang, and upturned corners that not only designed to protect the building from weathering since wood rots much faster

  1. Explain the difference between the styles of a Chinese Literati painter vs. a Professional painter. Which one would you have been?
A

The Literati painters were scholar, but amateur artists with higher education based on poetry and literature that tended their art to follow traditional subjects and style, while the Professionals were trained artists, not amateurs, who worked for patrons for both money and commercial purposes.

In Literati, they painted personal and emotional subjects that were considered inspirational and uplifting, and preferred landscapes. In Professional, on the other hand, painted subjects to show luxury and status, based on the desire of their patron.

Literati also included poems on their scrolls, the evidence of their literary education in strict ideals. However, they saw Professional artists as impure and contrary to the purpose of art.

In opinion for these differences, I rather have choose Literati.
