16
Q

What is the only artery in the body formed by two arteries joining?

A

Basiliar artery.

17
Q

What feeds the ICA if there is an an CCA occlusion?

A

Retrograde ECA flow feeds the ICA.

18
Q

What feeds the ICA if there is an ICA occlusion?

A

Ipsilateral ECA branches (facial, STA) feed distal branches of the ophthalmic artery which then reverse to feed the ICA.

19
Q

What feeds the arm if there is an Proximal SCA occlusion?

A

Ipsilateral vertebral flow reverses to feed the arm. ( “subclavian steal”)

20
Q

What feeds the CCA and distal SCA if there is a BCA occlusion?

A

Flow can reverse in the vertebraland/or other branches off the proximal SCA to feed the distal SCA.

That flow can reverse in the roximal SCA to feed the CCA.
