Unit 16 Flashcards
Fe
Iron (deficiency of iron limits oxygen delivery to cells, resulting in fatigue, poor work performance, and decreased immunity. Excess amount can result in toxicity and even death)
K
Potassium (helps nerves and muscles communicate, and moves nutrients into cells and waste procedural out of cells)
Na
Sodium (body uses it to control blood pressure and blood volume, also needed for nerves to work properly)
2 hr pp

Type I
Type 1 diabetes (aka juvenile diabetes or insulin dependent diabetes)
Type II
Type 2 diabetes (aka adult onset diabetes or non-insulin dependent diabetes)
Ca
Calcium (helps maintain strong bones. Supports bones and teethes structure and hardness)
