What is active listening?
Active listening means to be attentive to what the client is saying verbally and non-verbally
What is SOLER in active listening?

- Focuses on the behavior rather than the client
- Is specific rather than general
- Directed on behavior that CAN be CHANGED
- Imparts information rather than offers advice

- most are considered to be an “illness” and have local names

Refers to the human quality that gives meaning and sense of purpose to an individuals existence
Exists within each individual regardless of belief system and serves as a force for interconnectedness between self and others, and a higher power
What does having a purpose in life give?
Control and the feeling that life is worth living
What is faith?
-Acceptance of a belief in the absence of physical or empirical evidence
