A
The inner marrow of the long long bones produce red and white blood cells
Red blood cells allow the athlete to carry oxygen to the muscles
White blood cells help fight infections, which will keep the athlete healthy

Flat bones protect our vital organs from external forces

Our bones provide support for our muscles and organs. Without this we would be a mass of soft tissues.
