What does RUSL mean?
R - Reliable (how trustworthy is the source?)
U - Useful (what do we learn from this source. What does it tell us?)
S - Strength (what are the strengths of this source?)
L - Limitation (does the source have gaps, information missing?)
What is war?
War is a violent conflict between two or more groups.
What is a cause?
A cause is the reason/reasons that give rise to an event, in this case, war.
What are the 12 reasons that cause war?
Territory, revenge, power, religion, ideological, strategic, resources, economic, political, social, national, racism.
What is the just war theory, and who came up with it?
A 13th century monk named Saint Thomas Aquinas. This theory argued that some wars are justified because they: Are fought to promote good and fight evil. Have a just cause. Aim to promote peace
What is a tactic?
A tactic is an action or strategy carefully planned to achieve a specific end.
What is a consequence?
Consequences are the things that happen as a result of an event. They can be positive or negative, short-term or long lasting.
What are the types of consequences and what do they mean?
Political consequences: refers to the outcomes or effects that political decisions, events or actions have.
Social consequences: refers to the impact that certain actions have on society as a whole or specific groups within it.
Economic consequences: refers to an incident or event that impacts on the value of property trade or use of income.
