A system in India where you are born into a class which is a result of your previous life and you are there to stay.

Formed out of Judaism by Jesus Christ.
Han Dynasty
Strict rule of government where public officials were appointed and a national university system was created.
Egypt
The first civilization the formed off the Nile River. Built huge structures as a result of their belief in the afterlife.
Patriarchy
A system where men dominate and have a higher class over woman. Result of gender roles from the neolithic revolution.
Pastoralist
People who would roam the land for food for their live stock such shepherds.
Zoroastrianism
A religion formed in Iran which focuses on the ultimate destruction of evil.
Achaemenid Empire
First Persian empire formed by Cirus the Great.
Animism
The belief that all living things and inanimate objects have spirits and conciouness.
Gupta Empire
Second Indian empire which came up with the base ten system and embraed Buddhism.
Jewish Diaspora
Jews spread all over the world due to being driven from their homes by Asyrians and Babylonians.
Hinduism
A religion which focuses on finding peace with brahma in oder to reach dharma
Ancestor Veneration
The worship of ones ancestors who are connected with the spirits and gods.
Shamanism
The belief in reaching the spirit word through meditaion awhich has roots in Buddhism and Taoism.
Monasticism
The practice of going into to monkhood together with other monks.
Ashoka
King of the Mauryan empire in India who adopted Budhism and gave it a foothold in the society.
Mesopotamia
Area between two rivers were the first civilization was formed. Similar to most settled societies were there was access to water.
Qin Dynasty
First dynasty that unified China. Adopted legalism and the eternal empire.
Paleolithic Era
The era before people settled down and began to farm. Most woman were treated as equal or greater to men.
Constantine
Converted to Christianinty and made it the religion of Rome.

Underground watersystems in the middle east for cities and irrigation systems.

First writting form created by sumerians to keep track of local trading.
Corvee Labour
Labor mainly in Rome which traded unpaid labor for no taxes.

3rd dynasty that implemented the Mandate of Heaven in the society. As territory expands, more power goes to the city states.

Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa
First civilizations in India that formed around rivers. They had complex urban planning but we don’t know what happened to them and we can’t read their language.

Religion formed by Abraham in Caanan.

Formed same time as Rome and they were known for their pyramids and human sacrifices.
Greco-Roman Philosophy
A culture that formed through the spread of Greek culture throughout the Roman empire.
Shang Dynasty
Second Dynasty of China that expanded the Xia empire. They developed a pictographic writting system.
Silk Roads
A land based trading system that spread from Europe to Asia which spread culture, goods, and disease.
Buddism
Formed by Siddhartha Gautama, you strive for Nirvana or enlightenment.
Mediterranean Trade
Connected Africa and Europe and help Christianity spread through Europe.
Daoism
A philosophy of getting right with nature and being anti government.
Indian Ocean Trade
Was the largest sea trading area in the World and was a major contributer to the spread of religion and culture.
Mauryan Empire
First Indian empire which embraced hinduism.
Hellenism
The era where Greek culture spread throughout the Meditaranian/Rome area.
Filial Piety
The practice of honouring those who are older than in maintaining balanced relationships in confucianism. Trained reverence for the state.
Teotihuacan
First major civilization in Mexico. It contained pyramids and were taken over by the Aztecs.
Code of Hammurabi
First written law in Babylon used to maintain order. Eye for an Eye
Chavin
One of the first civilizations in South America which was the precourser to the Inca.
Syncretism
Blending of different ideas into eachother. Ex- Christianinty blended with many cultures within Rome.
Hunter Foragers
People who would roam and follow food sources. Most would begin to settle down with the arrival of the Neolithic revolution.
