unit 1 Flashcards
what are the characteristics of living things
-consist of at least one cell
-grow and develop
-reproduce
-respond and adapt to environment
-obtain and use energy
are viruses living
-no
-not made up of cells
-only capable of one life function
—> reproduce but only within another living cell
what are the parts of a typical viral structure
-capsid: protein coat for protection
-core: either DNA or RNA
