What are the 5 physical causes?
- Weather and climate - Extreme conditions such as heavy rainfall, droughts and extreme conditions
- Relief - Mountainous regions tend to be remote and have poor infrastructure
- Landlocked Countries - Countries without a coastline lack the benefits of sea trade, as a coastline acts as a international border
- Tropical environments - These are prone to pests and diseases which spread rapidly
- Water shortages - There are serious shortages of water which are essential for life

How does poverty cause uneven development?
The lack of money in a household, community or country slows development. It prevents improvements to living conditions, infrastructure, sanitation, education and training.
How does trade cause uneven development?
Trade between nations involves the import and export of goods and services. The vast majority of the worlds trade involves the richer countries. Most of the world’d TNC’s are based in HICS. LIC’s have limited access to the markets.
How does disparities in wealth cause uneven development?
There is a massive imbalance between the rich and poor with many people in LIC’s experiencing low levels poor living conditions and poverty
How does international migration cause uneven development?
In 2015 14 million people migrated from poorer countries to seek a better life.
What is an Economic Migrant?
A person who moves voluntarily to seek a better life
What is a Refugee?
A person who has been forced to move often due to conflict, Natural disaster, and seeks sanctuary in a foreign country

Countries with a low level of development tend to experience poor health care. Most people in LIC’s have limited access to doctors
