  • Most of the area was derelict, abandoned or occupied by low value land uses such as storage
  • The deprived nature of the area meant that it was hoped that it would benefit hugely from the legacy of the games
  • It is easily accessible from Central London and anywhere else in the UK, particularly by train and abroad
