Causes
A
- Cryptorchidism - complete absence of the testicle from the scotium
- retractile: genitila are normally deveoped but there is an excessive cremasteric reflex. Testicle found at external inguinal ring
- Maldescended testis- found anywhere along the normal path of descent from abdomen to groin
- ectopic testis- superior inguinal pouch but may also be abdominal, perineal, penile and in the femoral triangle

Treatment
A
Restores spermatogenosis
surgery
- orchidopexy in infancy
hormonal - hcg is sometimes attempted if an undescended testis is in the inguinal canal
