Ulnar Flashcards
ulnar motor
forearm: FCU + FDP
hand:Hypothenar muscles.
Adductor pollicis.
The third and fourth lumbrical muscles.
Dorsal interossei.
Palmar interossei.
ulnar sensory
split ring finger back and front

ulnar anatomy
elbow: behind medial epicondyle, ulnar groove proximally
wrist: above flexor retinaculum in Guyon’s canal
ulnar injury elbow
c: fracture of medial epicondyle, golfer elbow = medial epicondylitis, cubital tunnel entrapment
cubital tunnel syndrome
sx: medial wasting forearm, weak flexion 4th/5th finger, can’t abduct 5th finger, wasting hypothenar/interossei
claw hand
Froment sign = compensation thumb
ulnar paradox = less clawing at elbow due to FDP weakness (FDP goes through carpal tunnel so not affected at wrist)
ulnar injury wrist
c: laceration, aneurysm ulnar artery, synovial inflammation, trauma
Tinel, Phalen
ulnar ix
emg, uss cubital tunnel, xray
ulnar tx
splint overnight elbow extension, activity modification
NSAID
nerve decompression
