Radial Flashcards
radial brachial supply
C5-T1
radial motor
triceps, extensors forearm, supination forearm, extension wrist + fingers
radial anatomy
radial groove on humerus
elbow: anterior to lateral epicondyle via cubital fossa
radial injury axilla
saturday night palsy = high radial nerve palsy
humerus dislocation/fracture
unopposed flexion, paralysed extensors: flexed elbow + wrist drop
radial sensory
lateral, posterior forearm
radial injury radial groove
fractured humerus
weak triceps, wrist drop, hand sensory loss only
radial injury deep branch
radial head fracture / dislocation
no wrist drop, no sensory, forearm weak
finger drop, partial wrist drop (spared brachioradialis) so any wrist extension accompanied by radial deviation
radial injury superficial branch
forearm trauma, tight jewellery, Wartenberg syndrome
no motor, sensory loss hand
maybe positive Finkelstein test: thumb into first sideways, bend wrist at thumb side up and down –> pain
