What is an agent of Social Change
An individual, group, organization, institution, or force that actively promotes social change (ex: United nations, social activists)

Who is jean augustine? What did she do?
Jean Augustine advocated for education and women’s rights. She developed and launched Canada’s official multiculturalism policy and helped Canada recognize Black History Month in educational systems. She did so using political activism and advocacy.
Who is tommy Douglas? What did he do?
Tommy Douglas was a social activist who wanted a government that believed in medical reformation. He established democratic socialism in Canada’s politics and was the father of Universal Health Care in Canada. He did so using political activism and advocacy.
Who is Malala yousafzai? What did she do?
Malala is a social activist who wanted to stand for change when her hometown was taken control over the taliban. She advocated for girls’ education and women’s rights and became an important symbol of courage. She did so using advocacy and community organization.
Who is Baltej Singh Dhillon? What did he do?
Baltej Singh Dhillomn was a social activist who wanted to be an RCMP officer but was denied unless he chose to shave his beard and stop wearing his turban. He took this issue to court and advocated for RCMP members to be allowed to wear turbans. He did so using advocacy and political activism.
Who is Autumn Peltier?
Autumn Peltier was an environmental advocate who stood up for indigenous water rights. She helped force the government to address the lack of clean water and did so by speaking to Justin Trudeau himself. She did this using direct action and advocacy.
