nearly all of the countries communications and electricity supplies had been destroyed.

people were evacuated, people sent in shelter kits for the people who’s homes had been destroyed
what were some of the long term responses
charities such as Oxfam paid for people to get new boats because a lot of them had been destroyed in the storm, it was important for the philippeno people because one of there main sources of income is fishing
Also the country set up ‘cash for work’ schemes which was that if you worked to help clear up the city and rebuild it then you would get paid.
