Q

How has the arctic poppy adapted to survive

A
  • The whole plant is covered with black hairs to reduce transpiration because it traps a layer of moist air and reduces the diffusion gradient
  • It is heliotropic which means the it turns its face to follow the sun
  • they grow among rocks because the stones absorb heat from the sun and provide moist shelter for the roots
