A

An oil barge caused an 800,000 litres leak of oil, which contaminated 10 hectares of mangrove trees. It caused fishing to stop due to contaminated waters which further increased food prices.

The food shortages meant looting was rife, by 2014 rice prices rose by 12%. 8 deaths occurred in stampedes for rice.
