Q

what is fluorescence?

A

an object absorbing UV light to immediately release the energy as visible light!

note: 5 times more efficient than incandescent bulbs, because incandescent bulbs loose 95% of there energy on heat.

Q

what is phosphorescence?

A

light that is emitted due to the expose of a source of UV. continues to emit after the absence of UV

-> ie: glow in the dark

Q

is the sun an incandescent light source?

A

yes, due to the fac that fusion reactions take place at the sun and create an abduance of heat. as well, solar energy is another form of heat energy, which produces light!
