How to qualify for Justices of the Supreme Court?
Appointed from those who hold high judicial office or those who have 15 years in senior courts.

12 and Constitutional Reform Act
How to qualify for Lord Justices of Appeal?
Barrister or solicitor for 7 years or be a high court judge.
Where do Lord Justices of Appeal sit?
Civil or Criminal division of COA to hear appeals from county , high or crown.
How to qualify as a High Court Judge?
Barrister/solicitor for 7 years or circuit judge for 2 years.
Where do High Court Judges sit?
One of the divisions in high court :
KBD - Contract , tort , serious criminals
Judges of chancery division - contract or tort
Judges of Family division - property or child disputes
Can sit in COA
How to qualify as a circuit judge?
Barrister or solicitor for 10 years
Full time district judge or recorder for criminal cases
Part time for barrister and solicitors who have 7 years
Where do they sit? ( Circuit judges )
County - tort , contract , property.
Crown - Guilty and not guilty
More seniority = more serious cases
How to qualify as a district judge?
Barrister or solicitor for 5 years.
Deputy District Judge — ( usual to have sat as DDJ before considered )
Where district judges sit?
County - tort and contract ( mostly small claims court )
Mag - sit alone for summary and triable either way
