Send them to Crown court or sentence them - 6 months for 1 offence and 12 months for multiple

Specially trained magistrates deal with 10-17. Gender mix but under 65

2 magistrates and a judge in the crown court.
What happens at administrative hearings?
Sign warrants for arrest and warrants for searches. Also applications for police detention period extensions.
Who is the magistrates clerk?
A qualified lawyer who assist magistrates with law, policy, procedure and sentencing. Do not help decide verdict.
